Can Filter webparts in SharePoint 2013 pick up values from SQL 2012 Tabular Analysis Services as well as multidim? I believe, Filter webparts could pick up values from multidim Analysis services in SharePoint 2010. Please guide.

This is not possible. I tried it and see the request reaching to the server. the request was mdschema_cube but it seems the response from the tabular instance was not recognized by the filter web part, and it make sense as the filter web part was first build for 2005 and i don't see much enhancement have been done afterwards.

I have a SharePoint 2013 web part page, with an Analysis Services filter web part configured against an .ODC file which points to my Analysis Services 2012 tabular model...  works just fine for us...  It is configured to use a dimension and hierarchy, and has over 5000 members if the tree is full expanded...
