File storage in MOSS 2007
Hi,
Please let me know where the the contents( word, PDF and media files) are stored in MOSS 2007. If the answer is the content database (SQL server), which resides in the SharePoint installation drive by default then is it possible
to move it to a separate location ( different drive or a remote location ) ?
The reason for posing the question is : we have a internal portal and media/docs files are constantly being updated , the database is growing rapidly and we are running out of disk space , as a result, the site when accessed
shows error pages. We would ideally like sharepoint to store and retrieve contents from a dedicated storage space .Is it possible ?
A response is much appreciated.Thank you in advance.

They are stored in the content database.
I'm closing this thread as the question in your Title has been answered.
Post a new thread with a new title that is about how to move content daabases, but before you do that please search both the pre-2010 Admin forum as there have been many threads on that and also look at the Admin section of my FAQ site (see sig) where there
is probably an answer on it too.

No problem, Peng Lei.
My policy is never to mark my own posts as answers which is why I locked it without marking my post.
(I'll lock it again now - closing is fine, but people have a habit of years later asking new questions in long closed threads!)
