I have a user on Windows Xp using SharePoint and Explorer 7. He is trying to upload a file form his C drive and keeps getting the error "The file name is invalid..." I am able to upload the exact same file form my machine. I even logged onto SharePoint from his machine and tried uploading the file form his machine (thinking it might be a user issue), but get the same error. So it seems not te be user specific, but machine specific. We also tried uploading other files to other sub-sites but same error. Appreciated. Chris

Please make sure that you file names do not contain following items. Folder Names and File Names · Do not use: " # % & * : < > ? \ / { | } ~ · File names cannot be longer than 128 characters · Do not use the period character consecutively in the middle of a file name.
