File Access permisions are not recognized when users are not logged into the domain
Hello, In a SharePoint site even if the user is not on the domain it is allowing the user to access the site without asking the user credentials. So what are the steps that we need to take in order to ask for user credentials when accessing the site when they are not on the domain. Where do we need to first look into for permissions issue, IIS or Cenral Admin ? Any help is appreciated. --Thanks

Hi, First you need to make sure who is the currently logged on the user in this site. You could check the Welcome control on the top right. If there is no user name displayed, your may enabled anonymous access for the site. You could check it in Central Administration > Application Management > Authentication Providers. If the user displayed there is not the same with the current user, you may want to check the client settings (such as browser setting) to see if somewhere store the user information and automatically logged on. -lambertSincerely, Lambert Qin Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
