These are two seperate issues but I'm pretty sure theyre related. This is only happening on one site and NOT across the site collection (for now). This document library has a bunch of fields. These two with problems happen to be multi choice. 1. We have a document type field that "disappeared" a few times. I told the team that someone probably messed up and deleted it and left it at that. No errors or signs of what happened (checked audit logs). Thats brings us to: 2. Field 'Media type' is unable to update. If you try to give it a value it will change the modified date but not the value. This is only happening for certain documents, all pptx. Anyone have clues as to what is happening? I found a clue. I tried to resave one of the docs via PP with a different name, and then update the field through there. I do this error: '{817426cd-5c83-48ec-b77c-484bec4586ee}Value' is in nil content: <{817426cd-5c83-48ec-b77c-484bec4586ee}Media_x0020_Type>. Want to also note: I am able to upload a blank doc and modify that way. I guess some kind of strangeness with those files and sharepoint. I would still like to know an answer though if anyone has one. The fact that nothing comes up on google makes me think its a strange anomaly.
