Is it something that I forgot to do during the installation ? Give permissions or whatever ?

Appreciate your reply and help on this.

Hi,

From the error message, it is a conflict issue between IE11 in Windows 10 and the application you are using as an HTML editor.

As Windows 10 was just released, some software or hardware may not work well until an update released for Windows 10.

The version of IE11 in Windows 10 is newer than it in Windows 8.1 and we do not have an option to downgrade it. In this situation I think you should first contact the application manufacturer to see if there is an updated version to get it support Windows 10.

Hi Shaon ,

I am the manufacturer using Powerbuilder 12.5 which according to the compatibility center Powerbuilder IS compatible. In our application we have used the MSHTML.dll which "probably"(don't want to say possitive 100%)  calls ieframe.dll (when I try a simple navigate). And when this happens all the problems are starting. I didn't have any issues with previous Windows Versions.

Also I don't have control at that point. It is a black box for me.

Could it be a security related issue ? Something that I need to give administrative permissions ? It is like that something is blocking the events to be executed.

What this exception means ?

thank you

Hi,

Have you tried with Compatibility mode with running pb100.exe?

As you mentioned Security, you can also try to login with the build-in administrator account to see if there is any difference.

Hi Shaon ,

This has nothing to do with Powebuilder. Powerbuilder is working fine.

I think that the OCX that uses the MSHTML has the problem. But I cannot understand why with previous versions of MSTHML is working and now it doesn't. Microsoft has changed something and I don't know what.

I am an administrator on my machine.

Can you understand from the exception what is going on or give me a guidance ?

thank you

Hi,

I also think it could be the dll which was changed. I just would like to see if we can find a workaround for this issue - the first thing I check is the file version. Though both are IE11, in Windows 10, these files has a newer file version.

To me a solid solution is a hotfix for updating MSTHML or ieframe.dll if it is really a conflict issue. However as Windows 10 was just released, we may need to wait some  time for the first batch hotfixes until Microsoft collect enough information.

Hi Shaon,

The MAJOR and main problem is that I have more than 300 customers(I am in the Shipping industry) and the problem must be resolved ASAP. I could accept as a solution even a downgrade to IE10. I don't care about that.

So , how long do you think that Microsoft will release a hotfix or an update ?

Also I have send them the error reports from the Event Viewer which contains the exceptions.
