Dear all, I am trying to configure a farm but though I followed Microsoft's documentation and I think I would be done, I still have on CA "Server Farm configuration not complete". I have a medium farm with an application index server and a WFE. Here are the services started on both machines: APP SERVER: Central Administration Documents conversions load balancer service Documents Conversions launcher service Excel calculation service Office SharePoint server search Windows SharePoint services web application WFE: Windows SharePoint Services Incoming E-Mail Windows SharePoint Services Help Search Windows SharePoint services web application Then I created the SSP (which was not a problem) and then I created the 80 web application and web site. I notice that on the Application Server on the list of services, beside of the above mentioned started services there are listed Windows SharePoint Services Search (and he tells: "service running on WFE"). This service does not show up on the WFE services list. Rather it is listed (and started) the Windows SharePoint Services Help Search. Here is the list o f services not started (or running on the other server) on both machines: APP SRV: Windows SharePoint Services Incoming E-Mail (Service running on server: WFE) Windows SharePoint Services Search (Service running on server: WFE) WFE: Central Administration (Service running on server: APP SRV) Documents conversions load balancer service Documents Conversions launcher service Excel calculation service (Service running on server: APP SRV) Office SharePoint Server Search (Service running on server: APP SRV) The order of installation was exactly the same on both servers: MOSS WSS 3.0 Language Pack (LP) French (FR) MOSS LP FR WSS 3.0 SP2 WSS 3.0 LP FR SP2 MOSS SP2 MOSS LP FR SP2 Then I run the configuration wizard on the APP Server to create the farm and then on the WFE to add to the farm I don't know what is missing here. Dear all, I think I found the trick. According Microsoft's medium farm configuration, I separated the indexing (to the APP SRV) from the querying (WFE). Therefore I had to start the Office SharePoint Server Search as well on the WFE (but just with the query box ticket). I did it and after a while it is no longer Farm configuration not finished.
