Hi, i'm deploying windows XP from bootable task Sequence media to HP Compaq 8100 Elite CM PC (different PC model than the one i took the image from) I'm facing the below error, i tried to inject the network drivers and made new bootable task media but I'm facing the same issue. <![LOG[LOGGING: Finalize process ID set to 796]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.845+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="800" file="tslogging.cpp:1489"> <![LOG[==============================[ TSBootShell.exe ]==============================]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="800" file="bootshell.cpp:963"> <![LOG[Succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\i386\1033\TSRES.DLL']LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="800" file="util.cpp:869"> <![LOG[Debug shell is enabled]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="800" file="bootshell.cpp:974"> <![LOG[Waiting for PNP initialization...]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:59"> <![LOG[Booted from removable media]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="configpath.cpp:188"> <![LOG[Checking for "E:\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM"]LOG]!><time="13:40:17.861+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="0" thread="808" file="configpath.cpp:107"> <![LOG[Found E:\SOURCES\BOOT.WIM]LOG]!><time="13:40:18.079+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="0" thread="808" file="configpath.cpp:116"> <![LOG[Found config path E:\]LOG]!><time="13:40:18.079+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:553"> <![LOG[Booting from removable media, not restoring bootloaders on hard drive]LOG]!><time="13:40:18.079+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:564"> <![LOG[Executing command line: wpeinit.exe -winpe]LOG]!><time="13:40:18.079+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:767"> <![LOG[The command completed successfully.]LOG]!><time="13:40:26.706+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:850"> <![LOG[Starting DNS client service.]LOG]!><time="13:40:26.706+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:597"> <![LOG[Executing command line: X:\sms\bin\i386\TsmBootstrap.exe /env:WinPE /configpath:E:\]LOG]!><time="13:40:27.221+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:767"> <![LOG[The command completed successfully.]LOG]!><time="13:40:27.221+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSBootShell" context="" type="1" thread="808" file="bootshell.cpp:850"> <![LOG[==============================[ TSMBootStrap.exe ]==============================]LOG]!><time="13:40:27.236+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1088" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:1039"> <![LOG[Command line: X:\sms\bin\i386\TsmBootstrap.exe /env:WinPE /configpath:E:\]LOG]!><time="13:40:27.236+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="0" thread="1088" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:1040"> <![LOG[Succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\i386\1033\TSRES.DLL']LOG]!><time="13:40:27.236+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1088" file="util.cpp:869"> <![LOG[Succeeded loading resource DLL 'X:\sms\bin\i386\TSRESNLC.DLL']LOG]!><time="13:40:27.252+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1088" file="resourceutils.cpp:152"> <![LOG[Processor Is IA64: 0]LOG]!><time="13:40:27.252+000" date="05-06-2012" component="TSMBootstrap" context="" type="1" thread="1088" file="tsmbootstrap.cpp:1005"> <![LOG[Failed to open PXE registry key. Which drivers did you try to inject? Boot images in ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 are based on WinPE 3.0 which is built using Win 7 thus the boot images need Win 7 drivers injected into them regardless of what OS you are deploying: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680705.aspx . And of course, the drivers needs to match the architecture of the boot image itself. You can use drvload to load drivers on-demand from a command-prompt in WinPE to verify that you are injecting the correct one.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys

i applied the below steps: i took driver backup "Intel(R) 82578DM Gigabit Network Connection" from windows 7 from already running PC and inject it in the boot image but same issue i faced "failed to find valid network adapter"

Then there are only a handful of possibilities all relating to the proper driver not being available in the boot image (including but not limited to): - It's not the correct driver for the system you are booting - You didn't inject the driver correctly - You didn't update the DPs and/or boot media - You aren't using the boot image you think you are using The error message is unambiguous. How are you injecting drivers? Did you update the DP? Did you update the boot media? Did you test the driver using drvload as mentioned?Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | Twitter @JasonSandys
