Failed to connect to sync db
Hi, The user profile sync is not working all in a sudden, when I looked at the log, it said "Failed to connect to the Sync DB" on "Server". Any thought why it would happen? The Sync works before. Besides, where in the Central Administration specify the Sync DB? Thanks in advance.

Hi wkpli, Did you move a site collection or a content database from one web application to another recently? Did you see Event ID 5555 or 7888 error in event viewer? If so, you can try the following steps: 1. Open a command prompt and navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\BIN 2. Run 'stsadm- o preparetomove -Site <http://whatevertheguiltysiteis/> -OldContentDb <GUID of the contentdb listed in event log error>' 3.
