check the locationservices.log and clientidmanger.log to check whether client is able to communicate with MP. Also, check whether the Boundary is configured properly. You client is installed but not assigned to the site. It can be caused by boundaries as mentioned by Anoop or maybe the client approval phase. Since you have the issue on most machines, please answer these questions: 1) Is it a new site 2) Did you reinstall the site 3) What boundary types have you configured (ip subnets etc).Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Is the client assigned to any site? See the advanced tab of the client. Also have a look at clientlocation.log, locationservices.log and ccmexec.log. The client should be able to find its MP.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

The client cannot retrieve site information from AD or the SLP. Is the schema extended? Is a SLP present? Is it working for other clients assigned to that site?Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

Check wether WMI is working fine or not on the machine? Check whether there is any issue with management point ? YOu can get more details from the below thread? Hi Mohammed, From your description, I think client installation successed but assignment failed. You need to check the clientlocation.log, locationservices.log, clientidstartupmanager.log for errors. Before you do that, make sure you have the correct boundaries specified. And make sure in you environment not matter windows or router firewall allow 80 and 443 port, You can check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826852 to understand the port requirements. Then for client can't download policies, you need to check: First need to check to see whether MP is working, For that you will need to check the mpcontrol.log (Log location: \SMS\logs in SMS and \program files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\logs in SCCM). If it has status 200 ok message then that means MP is working. For information on troubleshooting the MP you can use the Troubleshooting management point issues section athttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/925282 orhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb932118.aspx. If MP is working fine and the client is unable to download polices, you will have to check the policyagent.log for errors on the client (Log location: C:\Windows\System32\CCM\Logs). Before checking this, ckeck if the locationservices.log has the correct MP information. If the client does have the correct MP information, make sure BITS is started, then try the following URLs to verify MP is working: /sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist">/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist">/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist">http://<servername>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist /sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert">/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert">/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert">http://<servername>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert Also it maybe WMI corruption cause the client policy download problem. For troubleshooting WMI you can reference: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875605 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc180763.aspx http://blogs.msdn.com/wmi/archive/2009/03/13/let-s-troubleshoot-wmi-part-1-remoting-and-security.aspx Hope this will help.
