FSP failed to reinstall after upgrading to SCCM 2007 R3
The SMS Fallback Status Point won't reinstall after upgrading to R3. I tried removing it and readding it but the same error comes up every time.
Product: SMS Fallback Status Point -- Internal Error 25001. 800700B7. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Is your FSP local or on a seperate server?

ErrNo: 800700B7 means "Cannot create a file when that file already exists."
You could check the SMSFSPSetup.log and fspMSI.log to identify the problem.
Could you post the SMSFSPSetup.log here?

SMSFSPSetup.log does not provide enough clues.

There is too much data in the log for me to post it as text. It would require about 8 separate posts. Is there somewhere I can upload the file?

I do don't think there is an option to upload files here.
could you please post the last few lines of this log.
Is it a production server?
If NOT, I would try directly running D:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\bin\i386\fsp.msi CCMINSTALLDIR="D:\Program Files\SMS_CCM" USESMSPORTS=TRUE SMSPORTS=80 FSPENABLELOGGING=TRUE FSPLOGLEVEL=1 FSPLOGMAXSIZE=1000000
FSPLOGMAXHISTORY=1 from start -> run.
We could see the details error message on the screen which could help us resolve the issue.

Can you try the following things:
Check whether the SYSTEM account has FULL Control permissions on the D: drive. If not can you provide these permissions.
Clear the C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\*.* folder.
Retart the server and re-try installing FSP

SYSTEM has full control of D drive. I got the same error installing FSP after clearing the temp directory and rebooting.

Hi,
Is there no error related to your IIS, can you check the event viewer and IIS log files stored under %windir%\system32\logfiles.
In plus, verify again your requirements
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/the-sccm-fallback-status-point-prerequisites-verification-and-troubleshooting.aspx
Otherwise you've assumed that the problem is related to R3, so have you checked ConfigMgr2007R3.log under %temp% to be sure that the R3 installation was finished successfully ?Bechir Gharbi | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/bgharbi/default.aspx

The problem was with IIS. I had to remove the FSP application pool and website. It reinstalled fine after that.
