FIM machine and user provisioning
Hi, I read the FIM documentation and downloaded the trial version and didn’t find any details about the following topics 1. Machine provisioning like Unix - how users provisioned to Unix systems? 1. User provisioning on target systems - How to configure access control on target systems when provisioning a user, for example, when a user is provisioned to a database, how do we define the database grants? 2. User provisioning to business applications like SAP, Oracle ERP The only way I thought is doing it through the "Management Agent for Extensible Connectivity" connector using the FIM "Synchronization Service Manager" ? or there is a formally way to do it? I'd appreciate your answers Thanks!

Your main option for what you are trying to do is writing your own Extensible MA. Issam Andoni http://www.zevainc.com/andoni

Thank you! So who ever wants to integrate Fim with Unix will have to write connector by himself???

I share your frustration and maybe someone had already developed XMA to integrate with Unix. Personally I am not aware of any Unix MA that will allow you to provision Unix accounts. Issam

Hi Danny, You may want to look at a product from Likewise, Quest, or Centrify that allows your Unix box to integrate with Active Directory. -Jeremy
