FIM in it's own domain
What are the recommendations for installing FIM into a multi forrest environment, as in where to put the FIM server? I note some of the preparation steps involving creating the domain service accounts. Particularly the need for the FIM service account to be setup on a server that hosts Exchange 2007/2010 to enable the full Outlook integration. The reason I ask is one possible design option (for convoluted reasons) is to place FIM into a third domain: e.g. a domain/forrest devoted to sys-management. I'm thinking of essentially thinking of replicating the setup in this example: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff720154%28WS.10%29.aspx that being: Windows Server 2008 domain controller hosting the Fabrikam.com domain Windows Server 2008 domain controller hosting the Contoso.com domain" Windows Server 2008 server hosting FIM 2010. For the purposes of this scenario, this server is joined to the Fabrikam.com domain. But instead of the 3rd point, the FIM 2010 Server would be in a third domain such as mgmt.com, along with a heap of other windows management type services. Is there any reason why I couldn't do this?
