FIM Synchronization Service breaks after update.
I can install FIM on my development box and set it up to a working state. However, each time I pull the FIM update from Microsoft's automatic updates, I end up needing to reinstall as discribed here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ilm2/thread/af437fcf-f945-4082-8b18-4f286970705b It's a virtual machine with Win08r2 with all updates, WSS3.0 with updates, and SQL 08 with updates. I've tryed verifiying the account password with no success. The error I find when trying to edit or create a management agent after the update is this: A update on the configuration of a MA or MV failed to replicate to a target connector directory that is capable of storing MA/MV configurations. As a result, the MA/MV configuration data in this connector directory is not up to date. Please correct the condition that causes the error, and triggers a resync by updating the password information of the target MA. Additional information: Error Code: 0x80230709 Error Message: (The extension operation aborted due to an internal error in FIM Synchronization Service.) Operation: Update MA Name of the MA to replicate: AS400 MA Guid of the MA to replicate: {DD395A85-0E1F-4019-B19C-02344074EFF4} Name of the target MA: FIMMA Guid of the target MA: {5BE80A02-CA42-47A1-AD6B-D2D6F96D7622}

What does PSS stand for? I've tried to open a case with our support, but when I vistit the support site: http://support.microsoft.com/select/ FIM is not listed as a product type. I've contacted our sales rep and they told me they would get a resource, but that's the last I heard from them. Posting in the forum was my last effort to resolve this.
