FIM Portal disable Create User button
Hello All, I have requirement to disable the New button under Users, to stop from users being created from FIM portal. Wondering how I can do it. I know we can stop the users from submitting the user creation request by modifying MPRs but want to stop them upfront rather than stopping them at submit. Thanks

Rookie, You can accomplish this by doing the following: 1 - create a new search scope with Useage Keywords Global and GlobalSearchResult, Search Scope Filter of /Person, and Resource Type set to Resource 2 - iisreset 3 - from the homepage, select your new search scope and it will take you to a GlobalSearchResult page with all person objects listed, but no New or Delete buttons. from here, you can use the URL returned above to create a navbar entry to point to so users will not see new and delete buttons. you will need to modify the useage keywords for the existing Users navbar entry so users will not see it - Remove BasicUI from useage keywords. Hi Bob, I have tried this for the User object and it works a treat (thanks)...but I am having trouble craeting something similar for the custom objects that I have created. When I click on the new search scope for the custom object from the home page it reverts to displaying the one I created to manage restricted access for the user object. Regs Jeff

Actually there was a topic here last week saying that 'All Users' page is hardcoded to use 'Users Administrators' set on the portal which includes everyone by default. So if you alter this set the 'New' and 'Delete' button will go away. no need to swith to GlobalSearchResuts page.
