FIM CM - sending email for approval
Hello, I've deployed FIM CM for a customer, and they required that each request for smart card must be approved by manager. That works fine, but manager has to logon to FIM CM portal and see if there is any request waiting for approval. is there any way that FIM CM can send email to designated address when request is pending approval? Also, why can't I disable collection of comments during workflow? Thanks,Damir

To send email for the approvals, you must use the notification API and capture the ApproveRequest notification sync. Once capture, you would have to create a send mail action that would send the email to the user designated. Unfortunately, this functionality does not come out of the box. The comments collection was a design decision made by the product group to ensure that one bad click by a user would not result in an enrolled certificate if the user matched the following case: - The user had Read and FIM CM ENroll permissions for a single profile template - The enroll policy for the profile template enabled Self Service - There was no data collection or manager approvals required. Without the comment field, the workflow would proceed to the very end and issue a certificate. Brian
