FIM 2010: Delegate attribute management of all/select users to a particular set of group/users
Hi, Does FIM 2010 allow to delegate attribute management of all/select group of users in AD to a particular individual or a group in AD? I know an individual user can be delegated to modify their own attributes but didn't find anything on delegating the abilicity of modifying another users attributes without being a FIM admin. Also, when you delegate a user to manage one of their own attributes can you have a drop-down menu listing the various options available to a user? For example if the user is delegated to modify Department attribute can you have a drop-down list of all departments from which the user can pick their department in FIM portal? Thanks, Sean P.

Short; Yes to both of your questions. 1. Delegation of rights are done through Management Policy Rule. When you define one of those, you decide for which group of users it applies and to which groups of users and for what attribute. 2. You are able to modify the "My profile" page in the RCDC configuration. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee534918(WS.10).aspx and search for drop-down./Frederik Leed

Thanks Frederik for the prompt reply. Time for me to load up FIM 2010 in our test environment and start playing with it. Sean P.
