FIM - Interoperability
Hi Identity Manager guys,- I was wondering if FIM portal would be compatible with 3rd party browser like Firefox, Opera? (if we exclude of course the Self-Password reset link, since it uses an active X control) ?- For FIM CM, do we have a list of 3rd parties PKI FIM CM is able to work with? Any link?Cheers.

Hi Fabien! you can find a list of 3rd party CM middle wares in the release notes . The portal doesn't work very well with Firefox but I don't know about Opera etc.Henrik Nilsson Blog: http://www.idmcrisis.com Company: Cortego (http://www.cortego.se)

The FIM Portal is not supported on non-IE browsers. There are some known issues with jscript compatibility./AndreasThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Hi Andreas, Do you know if/when this will be resolved? Out organisation hsa very little to no control over client computing devices and interoperablity is critical to our future. Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated. Thanks Adrian

You could write a web application to let users do the tasks they need on any browser. To interact with FIM, you can use the open source FIM client on codeplex. That solution worked pretty well for me; regular users need only a subset of functionality in any case, and I use the FIM portal for administration, where cross-browser support is not an issue. I saw a demo video of FIM 2010 R2 (currently in public beta) awhile back and I believe one of the improvements was in allowing users outside the organization and those with other browsers to make use of the password reset feature. But given it has not been officially released, there are no promises as to availability date or the level to which it will address your concern. Chris
