Good day: I'm starting to deploy FEP in my workstations. Some of them with Windows 7, others with Windows XP... I got the following error in the EPPSetup.log of one of the XP machines... I just got the exactly same error but this is a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 - Standard Edition - Service Pack 2. Solution that I found for Windows 7 is to enable and turn on service "Base Filter Engine" which I cannot find in XP or the Server.

Seems I would have to install the Filer Manager rollup package on the XP, (still havent been able to know if it's already there) but what about the Server? Do I need to enable TCP/IP Filtering from the Properties of TCP/IP of my Network Adapter?

Ok, so far I've already done this: Workstation: --> Checked the Hotfix required is properly installed (anyways I removed it and installed it back) --> I noticed there was HP Protect Tools installed, so I totally removed it with all of its components and restarted the computer --> Verified the services, checked if there was none of them stopped or something --> Tried the installation by SCCM and manually right directly in the computer --> It keeps showing me the error 0x80070643 Server: --> I enabled the "Enable TCP/IP Filtering" which is in the adapter advanced options --> Restarted the server --> Checked active services --> Tried the installation both manually and by SCCM --> It keeps showing me the error 0x80070643 I also checked some forums where it says it could be an error of windows update, so I checked the WindowsUpdate.log (this was in the workstation), and I found the following (dont know if it's got something to do with my install): 2011-07-05 22:25:21:913 5044 bc8 Agent WARNING: Failed to backup the service registration data, error 80070013 2011-07-05 22:25:21:913 5044 bc8 DtaStor WARNING: Update Service: Failed to repopulate the backup store 2011-07-05 22:25:21:959 1632 88c AU FATAL: Failed to get session from datastore, error = 0x80004002 I hope you guys can help me thru this. Thanks Sabrina, but in this case it is Working with the same Package and Advertisement for most of the computers... So, i dont think it's a command problem becuase it works for other computers with the same operating system and features. The problem was while uninstalling Forefront Client Security... I had to use a windows cleanup tool in the workstation to be able to successfully remove the FCS because it was not letting me do it directly in "Add or remove programs"... after I removed FCS the deploy went thru successfully. Still haven't checked the server. Seems this is solved by now, not the way I wanted but it's solved. Thank you!
