FAST Search 2010 with SP2010 Full crawl is very very slow

Hi Team,

I have SP2010+Win2k8+Fast search server 2010 with pdf ifilter v9,64 bit. The system has over all 85000/- documents which includes all types of file type. i have around 12 site collections and each site collection has 6 sub sites with 16 doc libraries. This environment has claims based authrntications.

65000 pdf files, 5000 word documents, 4500 excel documents and 3000 zip files. The FAST Search server is taking 90 to 100 hours to complete one full crawl. there are around 15-20 managed metadata properties , few multi select properties as well.

Is there any way to reduce the full crawl time? What are the possible causes for slow crawl? Please let me know if you need any further details to resolve this.

I have reseached google, foxit with no luck. Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dharmendra Singh Yadav,

Thanks a lot for your inputs - they are really helpful. I have tried couple of options from above options, but did not get a break through. What would be the best practise. Do we need to have multiple Content SSA or one. The web app will grow with many site collections and documents. What is causing the crawl to very very slow.

Thanks in advance.
