i have an external list connected to SQL table. My list is set to displpay up to 5000 elements. When i export my list to excel i can get only 2000 elements in my excel. Any idea how can i export all the elements in my external list.

Export to excel exports the items present in a particular view. The list may contain more items that a particular view but it is the items of a view which get exported. You may need to create/modify a view so that it returns 5000 items.

Hi RZ, as you probably realize you are limited with Excel. A couple options: use datasheet view and copy/paste the information, use several views and export results from the different views until you have all the items, use Access instead or run a PowerShell script to extract the data.

thanks for your reply. the funny part with a SharePoint list i can export to excel more than 2000 items !
