Export to Excel not working

Hi,

We have got ProClartiy 6.3 Web Professional installed on our PAS server. Recently we had rolled out Office 2010 at all of our users latptops and now they are not able to see the Export to Excel option when viewing a report from the Web Professional interface. The systems and servers are all 32 bit.

Could you please give inputs on what needs to be done to resolve this - is there an additional add-in that needs to be installed for this or is there a compatability issue with office 2010 and ProClarity 6.3?

Thanks and Regards

Vikash

Hi Vikash,

Support for export to Excel 2010 (x86) was added in a recent hotfix (2227).  What you'll want to do is install the latest CU for the PRO client and then try your export again.  Here's a link:

Hi Sean,

Thank you very for the response. What is a 'CU' you have mentioned in your response. Also is it sufficient if I install the hotfix on the users machines or should it be installed on the server where PAS is installed?

Thanks

Hi Vikash,

A CU is a cumilative update. If that doesnt work you may want to try the steps listed below . The paths mentioned below may be different to those on your users laptops, so you may want to check that.

Hope this helps.

Steps to be performed

1.        Verify that the DLL was installed on the machine.  You will find the file in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\ProClarity\Client\Office\Excel.

The file is called PAIExportToExcel5.dll.  If you do not have the Office or Excel folders, then you may want to copy them from another machine.

2.        Register the DLL.  You can register the DLL by running the following command in a Command Window:

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\ProClarity\Client\Office\Excel\PAIExportToExcel5.dll"

3.        Add a key to the registry for ProClarity to recognize the Add-in.  If you are comfortable modifying the registry, you can just navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ProClarity Corporation\Client\Addins key and add the following as a new key:

4.        PAIExportToExcel.KAIExpToExcel

If you have not messed with the registry before, I would recommend you get someone to help you because modifying the registry by hand can cause problems with the PC if it is not done correctly (a warning for non-IT readers of this post).

By the way, for all of you IT folks that have wondered how to remove the Export features from the product, you can just delete the registry key for the particular add-in and the functionality will no longer appear in the product.

The next time the Professional Client is run, you should see the menu.
