Export to Excel merging Col A an B with my data column in Report.
Hi there, I have a simple report in which i have a single table and say col1, col2 and col3. I have set the location of the table as 0,0. When i export this report to Excel, Excel merges ColumnA and ColumnB of excel sheet to dissplay col1 and col 2 in ColumnC. Col1 is not of big size so it cant be because length. I want excel not to merge ColA and B. Display my data as Col1 in ColA, col2 in ColB and col3 in ColC Note Col 1,2,3 are my report columns and ColA,B,C are Excel Sheet Columns. I am using SSRS 2005.

Hi RickyDaCoder, Below are some tips to help you reduce the amount of merged cells in your Excel's workbooks, please follow it and have a check to every point to see whether it is your scenario, if so please avoit it. Make sure the left and right edges of all report items line up with one another. This is the main cause of merged cells. Referring to the example above, if the header Textbox's left and right edges lined up precisely with the width of the first table column, the merge would not be necessary. Even if you do line up everyting precisely, you may find in some rare cases that there are still some columns merged. This could be due to internal rounding and unit conversion issues when we lay out the Excel worksheet at render time. Report Definition Language allows you to specify position and size values in a number of different measurement units such as inches, pixels, centimeters, and points. But, internally the Excel format wants everything to be in points. To minimize the amount of conversion that we have to do at render-time to change your inches and centimeters to points, consider specifying all of your measurments in points for the most direct results. One inch is 72 points.
