Export to Excel
Hi, I haveseveral similarreports all with a table with more or less columns depending on the report it self. On one report I made the tablerows with a bigger Height( because I have a small column with big data where I need to wrap) It works OK on thePreview(Designer) it works OK on the reports Web Page (ReportManager) . it works OK when I export to PDF When I export to Excel the rows are not with the height I specified and not all the data is visible (I have to adjust row height in excel). Why is this appening? Help is really apprecieted. Tks, DevDiver

Did you ever fnd an answer to this post. I am having the same problem and it is really bugging me because the rows really should auto expand to fit the text. It is pretty crummy that it cannot do it because it really makes the Excel export unappealing.

Hi , Excel exporting never gives you the excact replica of the report priview .As Rendering extensions for excel does not support all the properties, which is a known limitation. Anyway to answer your question , Excel always tries to get all the data in one sheet unless you have the page breaks.it does not give you any new pages. So while giving you the every data in one excel page it may not take the space as in report, and it may not show you all the data ,for which you need to adjust. Anyway if you want to optimise the excel view ,then let me know . Hope you will understand. Thanks Mahasweta

Your answer has nothing to do with my question. My question is about the row height. The row height I define is not preserved. It works OK on the Preview (Designer) it works OK on the reports Web Page (ReportManager) . it works OK when I export to PDF When I export to Excel the rows are not with the height I specified and not all the data is visible (I have to adjust row height in excel). Hope you will understand.

well I am not sure but if you can modify the rsreportserver.config file. It is located in the report directory of SQL server (Something like C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer). This is a an XML file that can be opened in Notepad. In the XML file, about half way through it you will see a tag called <RENDER>. You will find something like this <Extension Name="EXCEL" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ExcelRenderer.ExcelRenderer,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ExcelRendering">
