Export Objects
I have 3 collections A, B, C. Each collection has sub-collections. Can I use the Export feature to move Collection C to a sub-collection of A? Is this the correct thought process for Export use?

Create a linked collection then you can remove the original one and the linked one will stay. That's the easiest way to move collections around. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |

Will I see the linked collection inside the collection I've linked too? ie...link C to A; remove C; view collection under A now.

Why don't you just try that? It takes less than a few minutes and you'll see the result. (Hint: yes, you will see it)

I linked collection C to collection A however, collection C is not listed in collection A -- I cannot see it. I do not want to remove collection C from it's original until I know for sure it is in collection A.

BTW - the moment you link collections the program is immediately advertised to the new link .... BAD IDEA!!!

"BTW - the moment you link collections the program is immediately advertised to the new link .... BAD IDEA!!!" Not necessarily. If you do NOT check the box on the Advertisement properties regarding "including all sub collections", only the collection you target--not the subs--will be the target of that Advertisement.Standardize. Simplify. Automate.

When I link collections it's because I want them to get the advertisement(s) from the parent. If I am doing it only for organizational purposes I do not have any advertisements on the parent. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum |
