Excluding many article ID with the SCCM 2012 R2 search bar

Hi,

I would like excluding multiple article ID on the search bar:

So I selected Article ID does not contain "2965788" OR "2966034" and so on. But the exclusion is not working.

Where am I wrong?

If the string "AA" does contain "A" OR does not contain "B" evaluates to true. The OR is the keyword here, only one clause must be fulfilled and in this case, "AA" does not contain "B" is true so the other clause ("AA" does not contain "A" is meaningless).

This is ultimately a limitation/shortcoming of the in console query feature as it always adds an OR when adding the same field multiple times as what you really want here is an "AND".

You will have to find another way to accomplish your goal. Without knowing what your purpose is here, I can't offer much. One suggestion though is to find the updates you want to exclude and move them to a folder. Then, any subsequent queries on the "All Software Updates" node won't contain those updates at all without even including any criteria.

OK, that doesn't help. Why? What's your end-goal? What is the big picture that this one task is part of achieving?

Hi,

Actually I would like applying the software update during my image reference creation. But everyone is saying to not apply the fix who are making the computer reboot twice. So I would like to know if there is an easy way to exclude those software updates from the list making it easier to create the software update package.
