Exchange 2013 Management Pack "not monitored" - What is the expected state?

I have a "DBCopyFailed" "Continuous replication for database 'DAG01 DB08\Exch02' is in a Failed state" error on my Exchange 2013 server.  SCOM Exchange monitoring hasn't detected anything for this error.

This brought up the question: Is the management pack set up right, or is this error just not covered? I started to notice that some items have the "not monitored" state, for example:

In monitoring, under "Server Components" > "Mailbox Database Copy",  the databases are discovered and listed, but all show as "not monitored"

What is normal for this management pack? In the health explorer, Configuration, Security, and Performance categories are not monitored, while "Availability" and "Exchange 2013 Server Health Sets" are monitored.

The install for this MP looks very straight forward. All rules, monitors, discoveries appear to be on by default. Agent proxy is verified on for all Exchange Servers. Also tried uninstall and reinstall of the Exchange MP - no change.

Thank you for any details on what should be monitored by default, and any info on why the above error is not caught by SCOM.

Hi,

Exchange 2013 Mailbox Database Copy - Discoveries Exchange 2013: Discover Microsoft Exchange Organization and Server objects

This discovery rule discovers Exchange 2013 Organizations, Servers, AD Sites, Database Availability Groups, Health Sets, Windows Services, IIS Application Pools, Mailbox Database Copies, and all other related objects. It discovers all relevant relationships as well.

Can you confirm that you have enabled this Discovery Rule?

Can you also confirm that the server(s) running Exchange are being monitored correctly (i.e. from the OS level)?

Hi,

Yes, that discovery is on. It is on in the management pack by default. Also, the Exchange servers show up under Windows Servers, so yes, they are also monitored.

Thank you

Hi,

You may enable monitors and rules according to the management guide and then check whether they can be shown as monitored.
