Exchange 2007 mailbox provisioing for existing AD user
Hi I am trying to provision mailbox on Exchange 2007 for existing AD users through FIM. I am looking for code less provisioning. Following is what I have configured 1) AD users are created through dot net app on AD with some custom attributes which can be used to identify that they are new users. 2) Set "Enable Exchange 2007 Provisioning" to checked in AD MA. 3) Created a set on FIM portal to capture the new users. The set shows all new users which are not mail enabled. 4) Created a Exchange Outbound sync rule to flow homeMDB,mail & mail nickname attributes 5) Created W/f to fire exchange OSR 6) Created MPR to trigger w/f when users become member of set. 7) Added homemdb (reference attribute) attribute in MV. 8) Mapped import flow for mail/mail nickname & homemdb in FIM MA But still users are not provisioined for mailbox. In MV it shows outbound flow is not applied. Any help/pointers is much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anandk

your scenario is a bit different from what I'm used to, so i'm not really sure whether my remark will be valid: do you have you "synchronization rules provisioning" configured in the options section of the sync service manager? This normally triggers the regular provisioning. But I'm by no means sure if this also allows the exchange provisioning (update-recipient) to be executed. Regards, thomashttp://setspn.blogspot.com

When you configured your MPR to trigger for transition-in, did you also have it run for objects already in the set?

Anand, I believe Chris is right; at the time you created your set transition MPR, the set was already populated with the appropriate users. You can have this 'recalculate' if you configure the workflow for 'run on policy update' and then disable and re-enabled the MPR. Caution: This is very SQL intensive operation and if you have 1000s of users, this can take some time. To verify that this is most likely your issue, you can find one of the users and check details, go to provisioning tab and see if your newest OS rule is present in expected rules list. Thomas, I'm quite sure that even if sychronization rule provisoning is disabled, update-recipient will still fire on a per-object basis for export if Exchange provisioning is enabled. Glenn
