Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED) errors in SharePoint Server event logs (Event ID's 5016, 5553, 7888 & 7894)
Getting various errors in our SharePoint (MOSS 2007 SP1) server event logs. 5016: Expiration Service for site http://moss failed. Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) 5553: failure trying to synch site 4ff5b0fb-388c-42c2-bf26-5b20170ad20f for ContentDB 7a7d280e-5bd2-4892-aea3-929d2112a30f WebApp 323f6298-ac6f-4935-ae03-75683d2df704. There are 3 sites failing to synch - http://moss http://moss/MySite and http://moss/personal/administrator which all sit under the default WSS_Content content DB All the accounts we set up to run SharePoint services are still valid, not locked out or disabled, and can log in. The site admin and default content search account is a domain admin with full rights. We are also seeing a warning as follows: Event id 2436: The start address <sts3://moss:43464/contentdbid={658251c7-0627-469f-b217-9cf379b5f6af}> cannot be crawled. Context: Application 'Search index file on the search server', Catalog 'Search' Details: Access is denied. Verify that either the Default Content Access Account has access to this repository, or add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled. (0x80041205) I'm sure all these errors are linked but I'm at a loss to work out which accounts should I be looking at to resolves this and what permissions they need. Any help appreciated Thanks Phil
