Excel file creation macro prompts for credentials - WSS 3
Hi Everyone, I am dealing with a strange issue and I am not able to find a resolution to it. A user A has an Excel file in a sharepoint library. She opens that document and runs a macro in it. The macro creates few files in a folder on Sharepoint. Whenever user runs the macro, it asks her for the credentials twice for every file it uploads on the Sharepoint folder. She has full access to the library, file and the folder where its creating the excel files. She has Win XP, IE 8. The person B who created the Macro can run it on both his machine and on user A's machine without any prompt. When user A runs the macro in User B's computer, she still gets the prompt. Could someone please guide me to what needs to be fixed to avoid login prompts for user A. I didn't dig into the Excel macro but she said that there is no username/password that is stored in the Excel file. Kindly help Thanks in advance Regards

Hi, Please add SharePoint site as Trusted site on both 2 users’ machines, then check whether the option select in Logon Section in IE > Tools>Internet Options>Security, then click Custom level of Trusted sites > User Authentication is the same? Or choose Automatic logon with current user name and password and test it after restart IE. Thanks. Emir Liu TechNet Community Support
