Hi All, I am using ssis 2005...when I am trying to use excel source adapter ....its not accepting the xlsx format...I am saving it as xls and then my excel source adapter is accepting....my excel version is excel 2007...Can you let me know why my excel adapter is not accepting xlsx format...? Thank you...But I am getting the following error ..... Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Cannot start your application. The work group information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user. I didnot leave my excel sheet open... Any Idea..?? Thanks,vineesh1701

Hi All... maybe you're devoloping or executing on a 64bits environment and the excel connection manager don't support it. Is this? Another source for the issue can be that you've the excel file openened when execute the package and the connection manager try lock the file for exclusive read.Vctor M.
