The service account with which app pool for excel services is configured, should have read access on the content database for SP site in reference.

If this does not help, can you pls check ULS logs for errors. By default, ULS logs are saved in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\Logs

Hope this helps.

1. Login to SQL server

2. Open SSMS, connect to db server in reference.

3. Go to security -> logins -> select service account in reference -> Properties -> User Mappings

4. Select content database of the SP site from right top panel.

5. Check SPDataAccess and SPReadOnly from right below panel.

6. Click ok to close all dialog boxes.

Hope this helps.

You can open SP2013 Management Shell on SP server and run below command:

Get-SPContentDatabase -Site https://contoso.bmc.com/siteA
