Excel Destination 2007 Format Problem
On my server I have Office 2003 installed with the Compatibility Pack for Office 2007. This allows me to open, edit, and save files as XLSX. However, when I select 2007 from the Excel Destination it gives me the following message: Error 1 Validation error. Export: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDB_NOPROVIDER_ERROR. The requested OLE DB provider Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 is not registered. Error code: 0x00000000. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Service Components" Hresult: 0x80040154 Description: "Class not registered". Do I need the full version of Office 2007 to use the Excel Destination task or how do I make it work with the compatibility pack?

You can download and install the Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 driversChuck

32 and 64 bit installs available here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255Chuck

While I know there are installs available to fix the issue the question is what causes the issue? Why does SSIS even list 2007 if it required a driver installation? I have enough installed files for Microsoft Office to open, edit and save documents in 2007 so why does SSIS require more?

You have an add in to excel not a driver. They include an oracle option that doesn't work unless you install the driver too.Chuck

David, If you can use third-party solutions, you may consider the commercial CozyRoc Excel adapters. They are not dependent on any Office or Microsoft drivers installation, support both 32bit and 64bit execution and can work with Excel 97-2010 files.SSIS Tasks Components Scripts Services | http://www.cozyroc.com/
