Excel Custom Document properties vs. properties-server
Hello Everyone,
To fill column values in a SharePoint Document Library I use "Custom Document properties"
linked to named Excel ranges. This enables me to set column values based on certain Excel cells. This approach works fine so far.
But :-)
after uploading and downloading the document from SharePoint additional "Document properties-server" field are visible. Those are not linked to my ranges. When changing the document and uploading again,
"Document properties-server" instead of "Custom Document properties" are used :-(
I almost spent hours working in this problem and even cannot get rid of the
"Document properties-server" . I would be really happy if someone suggests me a idea or even a good solution. Thanks in advance. Looking forward to a reply.

Instead of using the Excel sheet to get users to enter metadata into SharePoint it would be better to get users to enter the metadata directly into SharePoint. You could then reference that metadata using a macro and cell formulas. For an example of how
to display the SharePoint version within Excel, have a look at this thread:

Thanks for your suggestions. That SharePoint version within Excel was really helpful. I made some changes in the macro which you have suggested and it worked. Thanks
