Hi,
I'm having trouble getting Excel 2013 documents opened from SharePoint WSS 3.0.
I found that the first time I open SharePoint and click the document link I am prompted with the Open Document dialog which gives me the option of opening as Read Only or Open For Editing. If I then click on any other document I get a dialog asking if I want to open or save my document. Selecting Open only opens it as Read Only.
I did quite a bit of research online and found common fixes for this are as follows:
1. Ensure Explorer and Office 2013 are 32 bit. I have this
2. Ensure SharePoint classes are in enabled in IE add ons(SharePoint Stssync and SharePoint OpenDocuments Class are enabled but I do not have SharePoint Spreadsheet Launcher or SharePoint Export Database Launcher).
3. Re-register OWSSUPP.DLL. I did this.
Unfortunately I am still faced with the issue. At this point it may be that I am missing two add on's but I don't know how to get them. How to do this and any other advice that may help resolve my issue would be welcomed.
This issue presents itself on the company Citrix desktop so all users are affected. I also attempted to recreate the issue locally on two laptops. On one I don't get the issue but on the other I do. I'm not aware of any differences between laptops.
