Excel 2013 CRASHES When using Excel 2010 files with pivot tables
I've got files that I've been using for years in Excel 2010 with pivot tables in them. Company recently pushed the 2013 upgrade and I've spent the lasts 3 weeks fighting crashing files. ZERO PRODUCTIVITY. Created "new" 2013 fresh files, pasted in my raw data, created pivot table and halfway thru BOOM.  MS Excel crashes again!  I've spent hours with our help desk, machine is good.  I have 30g of RAM.  All was well in Excel 2010 this is a 2013 problem.  I need help.  I am at work stop.

Hi Spanky,

Based on your description, could you tell me which version of Excel are you using, 32-bit or 64-bit?

First please open the Excel file in safe mode, if it works fine try to disable add-ins in Word.

If your file is large or contains a large amount of features, it is possible you are running low on available memory resources, the 64-bit version of Office may perform better for you. 32-bit office you run are limited to making use of only 2GB of RAM.

If the issue still exists, please try to collect the event log messages and send the event log messages to our email address:
ibsofc@microsoft.com
Please Note: Please add the URL of the case in the email subject or body.

Maybe I can get more information from event log messages, I'm glad to help and follow up your reply.
