Excel 2003 opens spreadsheet in read-only mode
Hi all,I have a few workstations with Office 2003. When a user tries to open an Excel document saved in SharePoint 2007, they open the document as "Read Only" mode. A search on the internet gave me a lot of info, but so far no solution for me. The users with Office 2007 get a choice-screen for read-only or edit mode.Does anyone have a solution/workaround for this?

You may want to try the following KB article.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/870853 This worked for me for one of the workstations.

Do you know if the file was originally created in 2007? I ran into similar problems and had to do an install of excel 2007 to resolve this.

The file is originally created with Excel 2007. For now, an install of Excel 2007 is no option.Kind regards.
