Event ID 63 WMI Error on the SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Server

Hi all;

I have the following problem with our SCCM 2012 R2 infrastructure.

We have 3 servers, CAS, Primary and Secondary, the CAS and Primary are on one subnet, and the secondary is on another subnet.

On the Primary server I see Warnings for WMI Event ID 63:

The description for Event ID 63 from source Microsoft-Windows-WMI cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event:  SMSDPProvider root\SCCMDP

On clients computers, there are huge logons delays with several errors and warnings:

1. Event ID: 6006, Source: Wlclntfy

The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> took 2167 second(s) to handle the notification event (Logon).

2. Event ID: 63, Source: WinMgmt

The description for Event ID ( 63 ) in Source ( WinMgmt ) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s):  SoftwareInventory_StateProvider, root\Microsoft\PolicyPlatform\Models.

3. Event ID: 63, Source: WinMgmt

The description for Event ID ( 63 ) in Source ( WinMgmt ) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s):  SoftwareInventory_StateProvider, root\Microsoft\PolicyPlatform\Models.

4. Event ID: 4, Source:  WinMgmt

The description for Event ID ( 4 ) in Source ( WinMgmt ) could not be found. It contains the following insertion string(s):  0x8004401e, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM\EN-US\AACLIENT.MFL.

Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

76873 12:23:12 (0) ** => This will prevent any WMI inbound connectivity to this machine.
76874 12:23:12 (0) ** Note: The rule 'Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI-In)' rule must be ENABLED to allow incoming WMI connectivity.

76876 12:23:12 (0) **    i.e. 'NETSH.EXE ADVFIREWALL FIREWALL SET RULE NAME="Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI-In)" NEW ENABLE=YES'
76877 12:23:12 (0) **

76879 12:23:12 (0) ** => This will prevent any DCOM WMI inbound connectivity to this machine.
76880 12:23:12 (0) ** Note: The rule 'Windows Management Instrumentation (DCOM-In)' rule must be ENABLED to allow incoming DCOM WMI connectivity.
76881 12:23:12 (0) **    - You can adjust the configuration of this rule by executing the following command:
76882 12:23:12 (0) **    i.e. 'NETSH.EXE ADVFIREWALL FIREWALL SET RULE NAME="Windows Management Instrumentation (DCOM-In)" NEW ENABLE=YES'

I noticed that there are two firewall rules should be enabled according to the report. Please give it a try.

I did research and found that the event could be ignored. Please test connectivity with wbemtest or powershell. If there is no problem, then you can ignore it.

Thank you for your answer.

I did run the above mentioned commands and I used WBEMTEST to test remote connectivity and it works fine.

However; I did run WMIDIAG-V2.1 again and I can still see warnings and errors.

Should I install the following hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2465990 since that I can see error 0x80041002 - (WBEM_E_NOT_FOUND) within the log "please find below"?

Please advise.

77207 10:24:54 (0) ** => This error is typically a WMI error. This WMI error is due to:
77208 10:24:54 (0) **    - a missing WMI class definition or object.
77209 10:24:54 (0) **      (See any GET, ENUMERATION, EXECQUERY and GET VALUE operation failures).
77210 10:24:54 (0) **      You can correct the missing class definitions by:
77211 10:24:54 (0) **      - Manually recompiling the MOF file(s) with the 'MOFCOMP <FileName.MOF>' command.
77212 10:24:54 (0) **      Note: You can build a list of classes in relation with their WMI provider and MOF file with WMIDiag.
77213 10:24:54 (0) **            (This list can be built on a similar and working WMI Windows installation)
77214 10:24:54 (0) **            The following command line must be used:
77215 10:24:54 (0) **            i.e. 'WMIDiag CorrelateClassAndProvider'
77216 10:24:54 (0) **      Note: When a WMI performance class is missing, you can manually resynchronize performance counters
77217 10:24:54 (0) **            with WMI by starting the ADAP process.
77218 10:24:54 (0) **    - a WMI repository corruption.
77219 10:24:54 (0) **      In such a case, you must rerun WMIDiag with 'WriteInRepository' parameter
77220 10:24:54 (0) **      to validate the WMI repository operations.
77221 10:24:54 (0) **    Note: ENSURE you are an administrator with FULL access to WMI EVERY namespaces of the computer before
77222 10:24:54 (0) **          executing the WriteInRepository command. To write temporary data from the Root namespace, use:
77223 10:24:54 (0) **          i.e. 'WMIDiag WriteInRepository=Root'
77224 10:24:54 (0) **    - If the WriteInRepository command fails, while being an Administrator with ALL accesses to ALL namespaces
77225 10:24:54 (0) **      the WMI repository must be reconstructed.
77226 10:24:54 (0) **    Note: The WMI repository reconstruction requires to locate all MOF files needed to rebuild the repository,
77227 10:24:54 (0) **          otherwise some applications may fail after the reconstruction.
77228 10:24:54 (0) **          This can be achieved with the following command:
77229 10:24:54 (0) **          i.e. 'WMIDiag ShowMOFErrors'
77230 10:24:54 (0) **    Note: The repository reconstruction must be a LAST RESORT solution and ONLY after executing

Yes, I know this is an old post, but Im trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS) as they can work with you to solve this problem.
