Event ID 6306 Received When Attempting to reset password through portal
Hello All, I've run into an issue when I attempt to reset a user password through the portal. I receive this error: Event ID 6306 Source: FIMSynchronizationService Contents of message: The server encountered an unexpected error while performing an operation for the client. "BAIL: MMS(3880): server.cpp(7750): 08007005 (Access is denied.) Forefont Identity Manager 4.0.2592.0" I can see it states access is denied, but to what? Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks, Akash

Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply. I'm using a Windows 2003 R2 AD, so the Descendent Users Object is not available. I added the premissions to the User Objects. Still getting the access is denied error. Thanks, Akash

I'm sorry, I'm new to FIM2010, what does that mean?

FIM 2010 consists of different components, FIMService, FIMSynchronizationService, etc for pwd reset to work, the user that's trying to reset password must be in FIMService as well as FIMSynchronizationService. are u familiar with terms like MV (metaverse) and CS (connected space) ? If not, you should real the doc on sync users between AD and FIM
