Event ID 5783: Synchronization for SSP has failed
I'm getting the warning message below on one of my application servers that's in a MOSS farm. The farm consists of 2 WFE's, 4 app servers, and a SQL 2005 instance. I'm new to this warning, and need some help! It is recurring every 3-4 minutes. I couldn't find anything on the web regarding this one. Does anyone have any suggestions? Everything else appears to be functioning fine in the farm from what I can tell. Did either of you figure out what's going on? I'm getting the same error.

try running following commandsstsadm -o syncThis will force Sync on all Databases. Wait for some time may be an hour before running following commands.stsadm -o sync -ListOldDatabases <Days>This command will list out the databases which are out of sync for number of days specified. You can also runfollowing commandstsadm -o sync -DeleteOldDatabases <days>This will Remove Databases which it is unable to sync for number of days specifiedstsadm -o syncAbove steps worked for me on similar issue not sure about you guys.Hiran Salvi

That fix has worked in other instances, but not this particular error, at least not for me. Thanks though.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I am seeing this periodically on only1 wfe multi-server farmThe command stsadm -o sync -ListOldDatabases (number of days) no matter what value I put in for (number of days) respose is:Shared Service Provider SharedServices1No databases match the criteria for this Shared Service Provider

Hi , Try the follwoing to solve your problem stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases 1 This gives us a list of databases that has not been syncronized for 1 day. You can change the values if you want to check further back in time. stsadm -o sync -deleteolddatabases 1 This sounds scary right but it actually just deletes the record to the databases. Restart the Windows SharePoint Timer Service stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs Hope it might help you.refernce: http://mysharepointofview.com/2009/10/synchronization-for-shared-services-provider-failed/ Best Regrads, Ahmed Madany
