Event ID: 7119 The SPAdmin service might be stopped
Event Viewer:A service provisioning cannot be completed. The SPAdmin service might be stopped. Start the SPAdmin service and try provisioning again.Message: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.Checked the Windows Sharepoint Administration Service and it is running using Local System? Is this correct? I am assuming this should be a Domain account added to the Administration Group.Farm Setup:1 - Application Server - Sharepoint Server 2007 box1 - SQLServer2005 boxNOTE: This error showed up after installing .Net Framework 3.5 and doing a registry hack for the loopback issue it causes in Sharepoint. Rebooted and now this error shows up everyday. SOMETHING ELSE: I was checking IIS and the Host Header entry is blank for one of the entries. I am going to remove this and see if the issue goes away. chrisdoran

Is there somewhere that confirms your answer, "Since you have a farm then the service should be running as a Domain account"? And would this cause the Event ID: 7119 issue? Thanks for respondingchrisdoran

Hi Chrisdoran, have you ever figured this out? I am having teh same problem and it started recently after running the dot net updates on the indexer and tricking the loopback.

No I have not gotten to this issue at all. I have not heard of any issues from my users, so for now I will live with it.I think it is one of those .Net peice of ____ developers who don't test stuff enough and now people like you and I have issues.I will probably resolve this going to MOSS 2007 SP2 and then upgrading .NET to 3.5.chrisdoran

I got rid of the error by unsinstalling dotnet3.5 and then installing this hotfix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971521 on the indexer.

Did you get the update from MS Support? Did they need to see anything on your server to get it? thanks, chrisdoran
