Errors when editing list folders after applying SP1 and Hotfix
Hi, We just applied SP1 and this hotfix. We are currently experiencing the following error when attempting to edit a folder in a list: Value does not fall within the expected range. Stack Trace: [ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.] Microsoft.SharePoint.SPListItemCollection.GetItemById(Int32 id) +217 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.CachedListItem.FetchAllFields() +1803 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.CachedListItem.GetFieldContents(String index, Boolean refetchIfFieldNotFound) +155 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.CachedListItem.get_Item(String index) +61 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.ConsoleContext.get_CurrentItemCheckoutOwnerId() +297 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.ConsoleDataSource.retrieveItemVersion() +208 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.ConsoleDataSource.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +101 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.XmlConsoleDataSource.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +243 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.ConsoleDataSource.ForceInitLoad(EventArgs e) +84 Microsoft.SharePoint.Publishing.WebControls.PublishingSiteActionsMenuCustomizer.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +315 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +101 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +211 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +2588 I verified that this is peculiar to Publishing portals. Has anyone experienced the same issue? Thanks

Yes we get exactly this issue when editing or viewing the properties of a discussion content type, (messages contributed to the thread are fine), but only in discussion boards when the publishing feature is activated. We applied the hotfix yesterday evening. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks, Gareth

I hope the hotfix can be rolled back. We are reaching to MS support today to see where to go from here. Please let me know if you come up with a solution and I'll do the same.

Hi, Any fix forthis problem yet? Apparently, the SPList.Item collection does not contain folders, just files, causing the GetItemById method to fail. However, feature menus still appear on the folder inside the UI and the feature receives the selected ItemId in the URL. On the topic of "folders not working properly in document libraries". If connecting a web part to a document library List view the list view will no communicate the selected item to the receiver web part when moving down a folder structure. That is, the connection only work at the document library root level... perhaps caused by the same bug?
