Errors after windows updates
Thursday morning I applied the latest round of windows update from this week. After installation and restarted, I am seeing this error in the configmgr and application event logs each hour which is when the site system status summarizer is scheduled to run. Event: 5436 component SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER on computer reported: MP Control Manager detected management point is not responding to HTTP requests. The HTTP status code and text is 500, Internal Server Error. Possible cause: Management point encountered an error when connecting to SQL Server. Solution: Verify that the SQL server is properly configured to allow Management Point access. Verify that management point computer account or the Management Point Database Connection Account is a member of SMS Management Point Role (msdbrole_MP) in the SQL Server database. Possible cause: The SQL Server Service Principal Names (SPNs) are not registered correctly in Active Directory Solution: Ensure SQL server SPNs are correctly registered. Review Q829868. Possible cause: Internet Information Services (IIS) isn't configured to listen on the ports over which SMS is configured to communicate. Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is configured to use the same ports which SMS is configured to use. Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS. Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly. Possible cause: The SMS ISAPI Application Identity does not have the requisite logon privileges. Solution: Verify that the account that the SMS ISAPI is configured to run under has not been denied batch logon rights through group policy. Hi, Please browse through MP URL from Client machines Url to check MP is working or not: http://smsservername/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist - if page display MP list, MP is working fine. http://smsservername/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert - if a longstring appears, MP is working fine. And you can try to re-add MP: 1. Uninstall the management point. 2. Uninstall the IIS component. 3. Restart the computer. 4. Uninstall Webdav. 5. Install IIS component, and enable BITS. 6. Install Webdav, and configurate it. If you used Windows Server 2008 as the site server, see this article and make sure the webdev was enabled and configured: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc431377.aspx Make sure BITS IIS server extension are installed http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753301.aspx 7. Install management point. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
