Error to workflow while copying item if User is disabled from active directory

I have created designer workflow for a content type in SharePoint 2010 site. In the workflow there is an action to copy list item into another list.

If for any reason (such as employee left the company) if any user is disabled from active directory. Then workflow is giving error while copying that username into another list. The user name field is of Person or Group type.

How to overcome this error.

Hello prasanna.b,

It would be very helpful if you could post the error you received in workflow history.

I tested your case in my environment.

Workflow should be able to work even if user is disabled in Active Directory.

I received an error in the workflow when I deleted the user from site collection. User was already disabled in A/D.

Both of my lists had the same column type. (Person or Group). On the second list (where you are copying items to), I had to change Person or Group column to a single text column.

Thank you

Thanks for the reply,

Below is the error message:

The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information.

I have already applied filter condition on the basis of that column using filter by [Me] formula. This formula cannot be used with single line of text, that's why I want to keep it as person or group type.
