Error running USMT via task sequence error (0x00002024)
I get this error when using USMT via task sequence to capture a userstate to my SMP. I get the same error on Windows 7 and Windows XP SP3. "Task Sequence: Backup user state to SMP has failed with the error code (0x00002004). For more information, please contact your system administrator or helpdesk operator." I'm running SCCM 2007 SP2 R3. Looking at technet it said to install the KB977203 Hotfix Which I downloaded and attempted to install. I get the error: "Setup has detected that the build version of the system installed does not match the update you are applying to it. You can only install this update on Build 2195 to Build 6005" Is there a newer version of this hotfix? Thanks, William Genao William Genao

Hi, see the following thread for this: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrosd/thread/53e310aa-3dfc-44ea-8e41-3ae1374d9437 Also check this blog: http://datasilo.blogspot.com/2010/01/usmt-with-sccm-and-0x00002024.html "The root cause of these is the KB974571. This update changes the way Windows handles certificates and unfortunately breaks the SCCM agent so that it can no longer use the certificates it has installed to talk to the SCCM server!" "It's basically editing both the certificates the client uses and then putting them back as they were!"My ConfigMgr blog: http://henkhoogendoorn.blogspot.com Follow me on Twitter: @henkhoogendoorn
