Error retrieving shared documents from Sharepoint sites
Good morning all, I'm not normally the person resposible for our Sharepoint so please don't beat me to bad asking this question. Tag I'm it today!! Our sharepoint site is giving us a problem for the last couple of days, we are not able to bring up shared documents stored on the sites, seems we can still upload new documents just can't get to view them after we've uploaded them, or view existing documents or images link on each of our sites. I understand that SharePoint stores these as blobs in the DB and I've look at both SQL and the web side and can't see anything not running or appearing to be wrong. Just as an example of the problem I have several Excel spreadsheets and I had uploaded a ton of Construction pictures as our new server room was being built, the page come up on the images just picture squares have a red "x" on them, excel comes up with spreadsheets but no spreadsheet showing. Any thoughts of a quick place to look?? Thanks RJ

We had a customer with this issue this morning, we found out that the user had removed the web part from from the shared documents page, click on the shared documents library link and then click "Edit Page", have a look, to see if the web part is there, if not re-add it and you should see the files again. How much of your life do you spend watching blue bars?

Thanks Mr. Safe, Just got finished fixing it, one of our applications Staff installed Cold Fusion on that web server, the supervisor from application told me it was having this problem before the install.. Turns out after several sit down conversations with some of our users I found out it was after the CF install that the problem occured. After seaching around some more on here I found out the CF highjacks the ASP.NET applications mapping to all the virtual servers on the IIS server when it installs. Go figure chase this all day and I had found it at the last minute of the day! thanks for your reply though.. RJ
