Hi,

Even though the IE 11 browser has been placed in compatibility mode, I am experiencing the attached error when I try to access the options via the gear icon on my SharePoint site. And the ribbon on document libraries is also disappearing. Does anybody have an idea of how I can fix this issue?

Can you please re-attach the error snapshot?

Also, SP 2010 is fully supported on IE7, IE8 and IE9. I would recommend you to browse the site on IE9 or lower version using F12 option of Internet Explorer.

Based on my research, this error might be caused by the cookies support on IE not enabled or corrupted.

Add your site as trust site

Clear the browser cache

Also use other browser to check the issue. such as IE 8, 9, 10.

If the issue still exists, reset the browser.
