Error migrating user profile while executing STSADM migrateuser command
Hi All,I migrated the AD user using ADMT tool from domainA to domainB and when i try to migrate the user in SharePoint using stsadm -migrateuser command, i receive the below error in log file (12 hive)."Error migrating user profile('DomainA\shentestb' to 'DomainB\shentestb'): System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation. at Microsoft.Office.Server.Infrastructure.SharedServiceAccessControlList.AccessCheckThrowIfUnauthorized(SharedServiceRights rights) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Infrastructure.SharedServiceAccessControlList.<GetEnumeratorCommon>d__0.MoveNext() at Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.PortalAccountMigrationManager.MigrateOneAccount(ServerContext sc, String strOldAccountName, Byte[] oldUserSid, String strNewAccountName, Byte[] newUserSid, String personalSiteReaders)."The account i am trying to run the command has administrator rights on the server, Farm administrator rights on the SharePoint Farm and full control on the sql server.Please let me know if someone have faced the same issue.Thanks in AdvanceShen

Thanks for your reply Ahmed.The post speaks about the recreated account whereas i am trying to migrate the user between two trusted domains.

Dear ShenKumer,could you please ensure “Set Permissions" Rights on the SSP for the user running STSADM -o MigrateUser:Shared Service Rights: SSP -> User Profiles and My Sites -> Personalization services permissions ?Best Regrads, Ahmed Madany

Thanks for the reply Ahmed.Yes the user is having all the permissions in Personalization services permissions.

I managed to find what the issue was... i had a Shared service in unprovisioning state and that was causing all the problems.... after i deleted the SSP.. problem solved.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SHEN FOR THIS!!! This was driving me CRAZY! I had the rights, I did the CMD runas, made sure that I had permissions in the SSP user profile, nothing worked. But I also had an unprovisioned SSP just hanging out there and never removed it. Once I did (but left the DB), WORKING! I also gave up on doing the stsadm and went right to Powershell to automate all of the permissions I need to migrate (clone) to the other domain. Thank you for making me sane again!!
