Error message when accessing Site Usage Reports.
I some general knowledge of WSS 3.0, but am pretty new to all of the advanced capabilities in SP2007...so please bear with me, I'm trying to get better. When I click on "Site Collection Usage Reports" under "Site Administration" in the "Site Settings" page, I receive the following message: "Both Windows SharePoint Services Usage logging and Office SharePoint Usage Processing must be enabled to view usage reports. Please contact your administrator to ensure that these services are enabled." I have gone to "Central Administration" > "Operations" and selected "Usage Analysis Processing" under the "Logging and Reporting" section. On that page, I checked "Enable Logging"...under the "Enable Usage analysis processing" checkbox, the time is set to the default of 01AM start/ 01AM end. I assume that this makes it 24-hour logging? After this, I went to my SSP, clicked on "Usage Reporting" under the "Office SharePoint Usage Reporting" section, and checked both options there. However, on THIS page, under the "Enable advanced usage analysis processing" checkbox, it gives an error in red text that states: "Detailed usage analysis processing requires usage logging to be enabled, but Windows SharePoint Services usage logging is disabled for this farm." Of all the Bing/Google searches that I did on that first error (and even this second one, which isn't really an error, more of a warning next to the option to enable that service), all I am able to find are rehashed versions of what I just described above, and to which I've already completed. I still cannot see anything in the Site collection usage summary page. Could someone offer some detailed help/support? I would be very grateful. - TSG. *** NOTE - I have run IISRESET after completing those steps above, to no avail. I have also followed this technet article to the letter: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262541.aspx ***

Mike Walsh, I see that you moved this topic to a new location. My apologies, I did not realize that I had posted in an incorrect forum. Has anyone seen an error message similar to this?

Hi, It seems you have configured them according to the post in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262541.aspx I find the same thread in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointgeneral/thread/3d3f0f38-d92a-42ff-abe5-457d7b8b31db, Can you confirm the report query time configured in the farm level. Based on your configurations, the report may not display immediately. Hope this helps Thanks! Stanfford
