Error installing hotfix 2750671 for FIM Service and Portal
We are unable to install the hotfix for the FIM Service and Portal. There are no firewalls set up in this environment as it is dev. The event viewer has Event ID 1024 and states: "Product: Forefront Identity Manager Service and Portal - Update 'FIM Service & Portal Hotfix KB 2750671' could not be installed. " I can create a tcp connection from the portal server to the SCSM server, but the installer log reports the following: "reating MSIHANDLE (580) of type 790531 for thread 5844 System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.ServiceNotRunningException: The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information. ---> System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: Could not connect to net.tcp://scsm.domain.com:5724/DispatcherService. The connection attempt lasted for a time span of 00:00:01.0009125. TCP error code 10061: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.100.35.19:5724." I've verified the Data Access Service is started on the SCSM server. But the event log on that server gives Event ID 27017 around the time the installation reports the above error: "The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information." Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sami Edit: We are on version 4.1.2273.0 right now.
